Marika is a high school student living on a planet known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her deceased father was the captain of the space pirate ship called the "Bentenmaru". More importantly, the one to inherit the captain's title has to be a direct descendant—meaning that Marika is now the captain of the ship.

มาริกะ นักเรียนม.ปลายชั้นปีที่ 1 อาศัยในกาแล็กซี่ที่ห่างไกลนามว่า “อุมิโนอาเกโบชิ”กับแม่สองคน ใช้ชีวิตสนุกไปวันๆเหมือนนักเรียนม.ปลายทั่วไป แต่วันหนึ่ง มีแขกของแม่มาหาที่บ้าน พวกเขาบอกว่าเป็นลูกน้องเก่า
ของพ่อที่เป็นกัปตันของเรือโจรสลัดอากาศชื่อ ว่า”เบนเทนมารุ” ซึ่งพ่อได้เสียชีวิตแล้วทำให้ยานขาดกัปตัน ทีสำคัญคือมีเพียงสายเลือดของกัปตันคนเก่าเท่านั้นที่จะขับเคลื่อนเรือได้ ซึ่งก็คือมาริกะที่เป็นลูกสาว
ในขณะเดียวกันก็มีนักเรียนย้ายมาใหม่ และดูเหมือนจะคอยจับตาดูมาริกะซะด้วย ชีวิตธรรมดาๆที่เคยมีมาทุกวันของมาริกะกำลังจะเปลี่ยนไปแล้ว!
